A collections of trend boards

P L A I D c o a t s.

This week I selected a fall coat while the uber chic and gorg Nikki from @thechicrebellion_ has selected the leopard blazer.

I kept thinking of what it was that I wanted this Fall and I kept going back to a plaid coat. Not sure it makes much sense here in so-cal, but I figured others on colder sides of the country or world would appreciate this post. I’m seeing these coats all over from Barney’s to Saks to Intermix to Nordstrom to Forever 21 to SheInside to Target. They are being seen everywhere and from all price points. I selected a few of my favs here and where you can purchase…. I’ve also gone through a few of street style looks I love for outfit inspirations. You can pair a great plaid coat with many outfits try distressed jeans or midi skirt or a sweater dress or even denim
cutoffs with a sweater and boots. Whatever you decide to pair with this statement coat you will transform your outfit… You’ll will add a flair of CHICness so quickly to your outfit. Step out of your comfort zone, take a risk and show off your amazing fall by buying a statement cost instead of the go-to black coat we normally all (including myself) tend to lean towards b/c it’s easy. Make a STATEMENT this season!

Would love to know what coat you’re currently coveting this fall. Please join us next week as we bring you one last edit for SEPT.

1. Nordstrom – (here) might be sold out but one similar (here) on Etsy

2. Free People – (here)

3. Nastygal – this site always has amazing finds at prices that won’t hurt the wallet and the quality is not sacrificed. I selected two NastyGal coats for this post just b/c I wanted to show that this site always has a great selection. Find this NastyGal coat (here)

4. Rag & Bone – you can find this amazing sweater coat (here) but it’s also being seen at Nordstrom, Saks, Intermix and Shopbop. Quite a few places you can find this baby. You will also find it in two colors Grey (which is the one I selected) and Olive.

5. Theory – (here) – if you’re not sure of this trend and want to make a slow transition this this is a great cost to try. It’s black and white yet still fun.

6. Nastygal – (here) selection #2 from Nastygal. This plaid trench coat is super fun and easy to throw on. Works well with many outfits and is a great classic that will translate well from season to season.

7. Forever 21 – (here) – Ok if you’re looking for a statement coat but aren’t too sure about the trend this store is a great place to find a stylish coat for less.

8. Intermix – Exclusive (here) – last year there was this uber chic plaid coat by Stella McCartney that this coat to me resembles and I love it. It’s a little more colorful than what I normally wear but it’s great!

A few ways to wear a plaid coat:

This Friday I selected LEOPARD HEELS being that Leopard has become such a neutral. Leopard heels are like a no-brainier they pair well with so much and add that chic flair to any outfit. It’s a print that when worn well looks edgy, rocker chic and always exudes lots of attitude. It can also be sophisticated and classic. I’ve always felt you should only wear one item of leopard whether it’s a shoe or a clutch or pants whatever it is it’s best to limit your leopard to one item. Too much leopard can be overkill. Although I did see a look on from NYFW where the model was wearing a leopard coat, skirt and heels and it was done so well, but I still don’t think I can wear more than one item. Below are some leopard pumps for different price points and I have selected a few luxe for less item as well where these items are less expensive, but do not sacrifice quality.

Would love to hear your feedback on any of the selections and how you feel about leopard being a neutral.

Hi Lovelies… So Friday came and the fabulous @thechicrebellion_ and I have joined up again bringing you “Luxe 4 Less” every Friday in Sept… This is an Edit where we select a trend and show a high priced item along with a moderate priced item and a perfectly priced item showing that you can still buy luxury without sacrificing quality at the lower price points. We hope you enjoy our edits as much as we enjoy putting then together. I’d love to hear your comments.

This Friday I selected COMBAT BOOTS (lace-up boots) and I will show you a few different options from a higher price point to a moderate price point to the won’t break the bank price point. In this Sept Edit “Luxe 4 Less” we select a higher priced item and show how you can find an item similar to the higher priced item at a moderate price for the person who is willing to pay a little more and then we show a fairly priced item that we feel is perfectly priced without sacrificing quality.

1. Saint Laurent – you will always find quality here but you will pay a little more. However, if you’re willing or can spend the extra money it’s an amazing brand and these boots are awesome.
Here are 4 of my fav SL combat boots and you can purchase (here), (here), (here) and (here)

2. Acne – these are great classic combat boots with a twist. They have an amazing side zipper and a rounded pointed toe with a thick sole. A funky fun combat boot. The price isn’t so bad and it’s a great quality shoes that you can invest in and have for years to come. These boots can be purchases at Barney’s (here)

3. Dr Martens – these are your classic combat boot and are a great price. These particular boots I loved b/c they are all black. The thread on the soles is black as opposed to the classic yellow thread on Docs. These boots are made very well, the leather is nice and for $125 you can’t go wrong. Find them at NastyGal (here)

4. Zara – the ever so faithful Zara never disappoints…always bringing us trends at great prices without sacrificing quality. Zara shoes are made pretty well and if you are looking to buy a trendy shoe, but don’t want to spend a ton Zara or are just on a budget or just don’t wanna spend much Zara is the way to go. These boots can be worn buckled or unbuckled preferably I like them unbuckled for the cool chic vibe. These are shiny and some ppl may not like shiny, but I tried these on myself and they’re super cool and the shininess makes them tough looking and cool #toughchic Find these (here)

Here are some of my COMBAT BOOT inspirations:
